Teachers Can Dress Up Too

Jess joined in on the fun with her elementary students by dressing up for Halloween.  Can you guess who she was?

My kids have always loved Harry Potter.  They have all their movies and books!  They often watch the old episodes together and experience the magic of the movie.  Did you guess what Jess dressed up as?.....Hermoine Granger (Harry Potter's best friend).

It just goes to show
that even
grown ups like to dress
up too. ; )

Behind Every Mask

My friend, Tessa, did a post about masks, and I told her that I have a thing for masks and that I love them!   I wanted to share my collection of masks with you.

Masks are mysterious.
Jess brought this
one back from New Orleans.

Masks are fun.
This is my
Halloween mask.

Masks are bizarre and
wonderful.

This pic is for you,
Tessa.

In Spirit of the Holiday

Happy Halloween week!

I hope you enjoy these (random) Halloween-inspired photos in spirit of the holiday.

(Real estate in New Orleans French Quarter. Is this really a selling point??)

Are you doing anything special for Halloween?

My little students will be wearing their costumes to school, and we will be having a Halloween party.

This time is so exciting for kids, especially in elementary school.

As for Halloween night, I'll be staying in, prepping some festive treats,

and watching a scary movie with my fiancé

Whatever you do, I wish you a safe and fun All Hallow's Eve!

Surprise In The Mail

I got a surprise in the mail the other day, and it was from my friend, Stephanie.  She called it a "goodie box," and it was filled with all kinds of interesting things.  Stephanie's blog is called The Enchanting Rose.  Isn't that a cool name?  Now, if our name wasn't Red Rose Alley, I would definitely want it to be called The Enchanting Rose.  : ) Stephanie is one of the dearest ladies in blog land.  Here are some of the goodies that she sent me.

A fabric pillow

Tea cup coasters

Tea bag holder.
Right away, I made myself
the Irish Breakfast.

Magnets

Journal

And lastly, a sweet card,
with creative and pretty tags.

Thank you, Stephanie.  I want you to know how much I appreciate it.  Receiving a gift for no reason is the nicest gift of all to me.  Love you.

Bridal Party Proposal

I wanted to ask my bridesmaids and maid of honor to be in my wedding in a unique and fun way.

With inspiration from Pinterest ;-), I made chocolate bar wrappers using old photos that showcased the history of my relationship with them.

I have known two of my best friends since first grade, and all together I will be having five amazing girls standing by my side (although only three are pictured.)

I also decorated mini champagnes (and a sparkling cider for my best friend, who is expecting a baby!)

Can you guess who my maid of honor will be?

I thought this was especially fitting for NEL ;-)

Have a wonderful week ahead, friends.

Cackling Witch

Nel and Jess showed you some of their Halloween décor, so I thought it was time to put my stuff out also.  I think you would love this witch if you saw what she can do.   When I press the button on her sleeve, she twirls around and around making a cackling sound.  I've had her for a long time.

Gotta put my Owls out every year.  This white one is so soft and Jess' favorite.

I've had this smiling pumpkin since the kids were little, and I fill it with candy every year.

My girl statue holds a mischievous pumpkin.

I love these three witches that are sewn together.  Nel has the same ones that you may have seen on her recent post.  The red rose alley witches.  ; )

My camera took this picture on its own.  Doesn't it look like a ghost?  Spooky.....

I hope you enjoyed a peek at my Halloween décor.  This has always been a festive and fun holiday for my kids, and we often made haunted houses and had costume parties when they were growing up.

Orange Pumpkins This Year

I found just the right
pumpkin for
my front porch.

Here is my neighbor's
Fall wreath.
She puts decorative
wreaths up on her door
for each season.

I love this time of year.

I saw this cute owl,
and had to take it home
with me.
I bought it at Michaels
in case you want
to get one for yourself.

Have a splendid week.
